If you teach 3rd grade, this one is for you! The lesson plan focuses on memorable experiences with strong positive emotions.
Students look at the poster to see examples of happy moments. Then, they use the graphic organizer to write about a happy moment.

How it works
The lessons are broken up into mini lesson, think and share, and independent writing time. The mini lesson is scripted and there’s an opportunity to read a mentor text of your choosing. A lesson focus is also provided and there are tips for differentiation.
The posters are in PDF format, so they can be printed or shown digitally. I always include posters in my writing units because they are a great way to introduce concepts, show examples, and share reminders with students.
The printables are often hands-on (like the interactive notebook). Also, I like to create fun graphic organizers (where students can participate regardless of writing ability or handwriting size).
