Maybe you’ve heard of Boom Cards, but you’re just not sure what all the hype is about. Maybe you think it sounds cool, but you just don’t have the time.
Well I am here to tell you…make the time for 5 minutes of signing up. The hype is justified. BOOM. IS. AMAZING.

Here are 5 reasons why Boom Cards will be transformative to your teaching.
1.) They are FUN for students.
Students are learning, I swear. They are completing purely academic tasks. But here’s the kick – it’s so engaging that students feel like they are playing a game!
2.) It is free.
It’s free until June 30th for schools affected by Covid-19. But even when all this is over, there are free options where you can try Boom with 5 students and make 5 decks, as well as purchase decks or download freebies. You can use FastPlay links. You won’t get all the fancy data, but you can try it out. When you realise how much you love it (which you will), you can upgrade if you want!

3.) It is self-checking.
You can use Boom as an activity (Math Center task or Smart Board warm-up). But seeing as you are getting self-checking activities with results, why not use Boom as an easy form of assessment! You don’t have to grade papers. Students get INSTANT RESULTS!
4.) Boom is paperless.
No printing. Absolutely no laminating. NO PREP whatsoever. Pure technological fun. Need I say more?
5.) It is interactive and engaging.
Students aren’t going to be bored with yet another black and white worksheet. They will be engaged by dragging and dropping, typing, and clicking.

I wish I had discovered Boom when I first started teaching. I was ALWAYS looking for whole class warm ups for the smart board and Math centers. Sigh. Better late than never! I’ve discovered it now and I’m HOOKED!
